Department Introduction

The Department of Neurology adheres to the principle of patient-centered care and is committed to providing comprehensive and high-quality medical services through professional ethics, comprehensive expertise, advanced medical skills, and proficient techniques. 

As a vital part of the Neurology Center at Peking University International Hospital, the department has a team of high-quality professionals and employs advanced neurophysiological diagnostic equipment, including electromyography (EMG), evoked potential instruments, digital video EEG, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and transcranial Doppler ultrasound, enabling high-level diagnosis and treatment of various neurological disorders. The department also has multiple intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring devices that assist surgical teams in performing intraoperative neurofunctional monitoring, ensuring surgical safety, reducing surgical risks, and minimizing post-surgical neurological dysfunction.

The department works closely with the Neurosurgery, Emergency Medicine, Radiology, and Intensive Care units to offer treatment for acute cerebral infarction through intravenous thrombolysis and thrombectomy, as well as systematic treatment for epileptic disorders, including refractory epilepsy surgeries. The department also runs specialized clinics for epilepsy, memory disorders, dizziness, and collaborates with neurosurgery to provide cerebrovascular disease outpatient services.
