As the Eighth Clinical Medical School of Peking University, Peking University International Hospital receives strong support in medical care, teaching, and research from the Peking University Health Science Center and its affiliated hospitals. The hospital strives to integrate resources, inherit and innovate upon the academic strengths of the Peking University medical system, and provide high-quality healthcare services and a superior medical environment, meeting the increasing healthcare needs of the public and establishing international collaborations.
The hospital has a total construction area of 440,000 square meters, with a total investment of 7 billion RMB. It is licensed for 1,800 beds and comprises over 50 clinical and medical technical departments. The hospital is fully equipped with advanced facilities and up-to-date technologies. A dedicated green channel for international emergency care has been established in cooperation with the Beijing Emergency Medical Center to serve foreign patients. An independent emergency treatment area is designated for international patients.
Equipped with resuscitation rooms, operating theaters, and observation rooms, the facility also features 10 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds, 2 Coronary Care Unit (CCU) beds, and a total of 34 beds across all specialized units, including RICU (Respiratory Intensive Care Unit), NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), and CSICU (Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit).
The hospital has its own helipad specially designed for the transfer of critically ill patients and an operating theater tailored to helicopter emergency transport.
A streamlined process is established for emergency-critical care and emergency-to-inpatient admissions, creating a genuine "critical care fast track."
Direct settlement procedures with 44 insurance companies have been implemented for emergency patients, enabling seamless and integrated insurance payment for emergency medical services.
