Areas of expertise include: Oncologic surgery and minimally invasive interventional treatment: open surgery, microsurgery, and minimally invasive surgery for primary and metastatic tumors of the brain and nervous system, spinal tumors and bone metastases, and visceral tumors and metastases; interventional surgical and energy-based ablation techniques; and interventional pharmacologic and biologic therapies. Surgical management of cancer pain: interventional ablation of tumor lesions and neural targets for pain caused by tumor compression or invasion, including headache and neuralgia, pain from spinal and osseous metastases, and pain from visceral metastases; as well as treatment of cancer-related and progressive pain, including postoperative pain, post-radiotherapy and post-chemotherapy pain, breakthrough pain, and phantom pain, using minimally invasive techniques for bone metastases, implantable morphine pump therapy, and neuromodulation.
