Expertise

Specializes in minimally invasive surgery and multidisciplinary treatment for gastrointestinal tumors. Has extensive expertise in gastric cancer and has led or participated in the development and writing of multiple national guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer in China. Served as principal investigator or key contributor in major national multicenter clinical studies on neoadjuvant therapy for gastric cancer (the RESONANCE study) and treatment of gastric cancer with liver metastases (the RECORD study). Findings from these studies were invited for presentation at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting and the International Gastric Cancer Congress. Particularly experienced in minimally invasive surgical treatment for early and advanced gastric cancer, including totally laparoscopic radical gastrectomy and function-preserving surgery for early gastric cancer, and has been repeatedly invited to perform live surgical demonstrations at national gastrointestinal oncology conferences. Has particular expertise in multidisciplinary and conversion therapy for locally advanced gastric cancer, conversion therapy for gastric cancer with liver metastases, maintenance therapy for advanced gastric cancer, management of bowel obstruction in advanced gastric cancer, and improving quality of life in patients with advanced gastric cancer. Also specializes in minimally invasive surgery for colorectal cancer, particularly totally laparoscopic surgery for colon cancer, sphincter-preserving surgery for mid- to low-rectal cancer, and function-preserving procedures for ultra-low rectal cancer.
