The Department of Pharmacy at Peking University International Hospital is equipped with an advanced, integrated system for pharmaceutical informatization and intelligent management. This system covers comprehensive aspects of drug management, dispensing, and medical order review. We have implemented intelligent medication cabinet management systems in all pharmacies, clinical departments, and operating rooms, each operated by designated pharmacists to ensure safe, efficient, and timely medication supply for clinical needs.
For teaching, the Department of Pharmacy takes an active role in delivering Clinical Pharmacology courses for the Clinical Medicine program at Peking University Health Science Center. We organize annual national workshops on intelligent pharmacy and big data, and our pharmacists regularly participate in specialized clinical pharmacy training, strengthening our professional team and enhancing clinical pharmacy capabilities.
In research, the department has published 7 high-quality articles in SCI-indexed journals and presented 1 poster at international conferences. It has received two research grants from the Beijing Pharmaceutical Association. We actively participate in institutional management of clinical trials and clinical research, leading one post-marketing clinical study and one international multicenter clinical drug trial.
Currently, the department consists of 45 pharmacists, including 1 with a senior professional title, 30 with intermediate titles, 1 with a doctoral degree, and 11 with master's degrees. The team comprises specialized pharmacists in anti-infectives (2), oncology (2), anticoagulation, nutrition, neurology, and nephrology (one each), who participate in pharmaceutical monitoring, clinical consultations, rational drug use training, and adverse drug reaction surveillance in inpatient settings, making tireless efforts to ensure the safe and rational use of medications for patients.
