Plastic Surgery (Wound Repair)

The Department of Plastic Surgery / Aesthetic Medicine Center (hereafter referred to as the “Plastic and Aesthetic Center”) is committed to providing precision treatment. By integrating expert teams from leading tertiary hospitals across China, the center has established a comprehensive and safe medical model that combines pathological treatment, functional reconstruction, and morphological restoration. The center encompasses two major specialties: Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Medical Aesthetics.

Key areas of focus in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery include cleft lip and palate repair and secondary cleft lip–nasal deformity correction, pediatric plastic surgery, craniofacial deformity reconstruction, aesthetic trauma repair, wound management, ear and nasal reconstruction, breast reconstruction, replantation of amputated limbs and digits, and correction of ocular deformities.

The Medical Aesthetics Center specializes in a full range of nationally designated Class IV cosmetic surgical procedures, including eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation/reduction, autologous fat grafting, injectable aesthetic treatments, intimate aesthetic procedures, as well as laser treatments for wrinkle reduction and pigmentation removal.

The Plastic and Aesthetic Center draws strength from the robust academic resources and expert faculty within Peking University’s healthcare system. The center is also entrusted with the mission of advancing the development of the plastic and aesthetic medical disciplines. To achieve this, it has established a six-tier educational and training platform tailored for medical and nursing professionals in the field of aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. This platform includes specialized physician education, postgraduate training, nursing education, continuing medical education, and academic exchange platforms at provincial, national, and international levels.

By promoting teaching standards and leveraging a strong faculty team, the center is cultivating an internationally oriented academic framework for education in plastic and aesthetic medicine.
