The Specialty Geriatric Medicine Center (referred to as the "Center") is a featured geriatric comprehensive evaluation and health care management center jointly established by Peking University International Hospital with the support of the National Clinical Medical Research Center for geriatric diseases (Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University). The Center focuses on comprehensive functional assessments and health management for the elderly, addressing common issues related to aging and chronic diseases. It offers a new integrated model of prevention, diagnosis, intervention, treatment, rehabilitation, and care.
The Center emphasizes comprehensive evaluations of elderly patients' functions and early screening for diseases, with specialized clinics for physical activity, cognitive function, sleep, autonomic nervous function, bone and joint health, gastrointestinal function, cardiovascular and respiratory health, oral health, and nutrition. It also provides functional rehabilitation and digital and remote healthcare support.
For elderly patients at risk of functional impairments and chronic diseases, the Center develops personalized health guidance and medical plans. It integrates multidisciplinary care teams, offering collaborative services across various specialties (including health checks). The Center extends healthcare services to communities, nursing homes, and families through the use of Internet-based and digital healthcare tools, providing convenient, efficient, and proactive management for elderly health.
The Center leverages smart healthcare and artificial intelligence technologies to drive medical transformations, developing wearable and digital diagnostic devices. It also uses real-world research to create clinical big data platforms for Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and other common chronic conditions in elderly populations, improving management outcomes and exploring new models for disease-cycle management in the elderly.
